MAPA MEMBERSHIPS and DONATIONS

MAPA memberships are vital contributions to MAPA’s provision of educational programs in parks and schools.

Due to the CA State Budget cuts to our parks
and the resulting 7 parks slated to close permanently by July 1, 2012,
MAPA needs your help through Memberships and Donations to enable us to strategize
HOW TO KEEP ALL OF OUR PARKS OPEN AND PROTECTED.

In return, MAPA members receive:

  • Advance opportunity to purchase discounted tickets to the popular Abalone Cook-Off.
  • Family Memberships and higher: 10 free day-passes useable in the 17 Mendocino District State parks - for those parks that are still open to the public after 7/1/2012.
  • Individuals and Seniors: 5 free day-passes useable in the 17 Mendo District State Parks - for those parks that are still open to the public after 7/1/2012.
  • 10% discount on purchases from the 6 Visitor Centers - if still open to the public.
  • Newsletter and E-Newsletters

Your donations helpls fund Living History school field trips to the Ford House Museum where children make biscuits from scratch, crank ice-cream, make butter from cream, create corn-husk dolls, wash clothes in a metal tub with a scrubbing board and then hang them to air-dry, and play pioneer games.

Your donations help fund campfire programs like this one with Mr. Abalone doing an educational program on the Red Abalone that inhabit our coastal ecosystems.

Your donations also help with Jr. Rangers and other nature programs in several state parks.
