Location: Russian Gulch State Park Rec Hall (CA-1, Mendocino)
Description:
The SALT training (Surfers Awareness and Lifesaving Techniques) teaches surfers how to recognize and react to fellow surfers and swimmers in distress. Hosted by the Mendocino lifeguard program, our goal is to teach the community how to recognize signs of distress, and what to do in an emergency event. We will teach different techniques and strategies to help save lives in the water. Often, first responders in a water rescue event (especially surf-related) are other surfers. We aim to equip the community with skills to make safe and effective rescues. Hosted at the Russian Gulch Rec Hall @ 1 PM. Bring wetsuits, family, and friends! Barbecue to follow!
