All aboard the NEW AND IMPROVED Mushroom Train! Departing from Fort Bragg, journey deep into the redwoods along the legendary Redwood Route to Glen Blair Junction for an unforgettable forest experience.
This year features live bands, a deck with dancing and a DJ, and optional guided forest bathing.. Sip world class wines, beers, and a signature cocktail while savoring mushroom-based dishes. Then, head over to the campfires to roast your own hot dog or make your own s’more! The event also features winemaking and mushroom education tables - learn the ins and outs of both!
Upgrade your experience aboard our NEW Presidential Class Car and receive a guided spirit tasting and custom created mushroom tastes on your way to Glen Blair!
Greenwood State Beach History Walk
Join CA State Park Interpreter and Elk local, Anica Williams, for an interactive walk through the area’s history and get acquainted with some of its many characters. If raining, Anica will give a talk in the Visitor Center! Wear suitable walking shoes and dress in layers. The walk is a 0.5 mile loop, mostly flat with a bathroom stop on the way. Note: this trail is not currently ADA accessible and the nearest restroom is at the Day Use Area across from the Elk Store.

Author Talk - Rosanne McHenry
Come join us for an engaging and entertaining author talk and book signing. Rosanne McHenry is an award-winning author with an international following. Her stories give readers an inside look at the wild life of a park ranger. You’ll laugh out loud as you hear these eye-popping tales. A free prize drawing and book signing will follow the presentation. Books will be available by cash or check.

Slide into the Sea at Westport!

State Park Interpreters will take you on a short hike to the beach and rock hop across Howard Creek (waterproof boots or water shoes recommended) to view geologic processes where the mountains meet the sea. Learn about coastal erosion, feel gooey greywacke rock, enjoy hot cider, and experience a magnificent sunset at Westport Union Landing State Beach!

Tour Terrific Tide Pools - California Biodiversity Week Celebration
Join a guided tide pool exploration to celebrate California Biodiversity Week and learn about MacKerricher State Park’s tide pools! Search for sea stars and handle hermit crabs, check out chitons, and marvel at mollusks while learning how to safely explore tide pools!

Campfire Program: "Criminal Critters" (MacKerricher)
Relax next to a crackling campfire to learn about MacKerricher State Park's "Criminal Critters!” Visitors will become detectives by learning about a "crime" committed by an animal in the park. We will use clues to figure out what animal was the culprit! Put on your thinking caps, because we need very smart detectives to solve these mysteries!
S'mores, laughs, and campfire songs provided.

Campfire Story Time: Sammy the Slug (MacKerricher)
Relax next to a crackling campfire to hear the story of "Sammy the Slug". Sammy faces a tough problem - trash in the campground! How can a little banana slug solve this problem? Will anyone help Sammy clean up their home?
This program is geared towards young campers, but all ages and s'more enthusiasts are welcome!

Come prepared with sturdy, closed toe shoes (hiking boots or an old pair of tennis shoes that you don’t mind getting wet are best), layered clothing, sun protection, and a water bottle. Species guides will be available to borrow. Note that there will be a short walk across a sandy beach to access the tidepools. Please park only in designated parking spaces. All programs are free and open to the public. Programs may be cancelled due to park closures, weather, or other emergencies, INCLUDING dangerous and unpredictable ocean conditions. Location: Manchester State Park, meet at the Davis Wetlands Trailhead in the Manchester State Park Campground
Join Park Interpreter Anica Williams for an interactive hike highlighting this park’s rare gems. It’s about a mile long. Note: this trail is not currently ADA accessible and dogs are not allowed (dogs are not allowed on the beach or on trails at Manchester State Park).

Location: Meet at the Ford House, 45035 Main Street, Mendocino, CA 95460
